David and I recently celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary and to commemorate it, we took a trip in our RV! We spent a nice long weekend “camping” at the beautiful Cloudland Canyon state park in northwest Georgia. The leaves were changing and the colors were vibrant. Here are some photos from our trip:
Below is what our campsite looked like. It was #17 on the West Rim of the canyon.
…and below is our fancy dinner on our first night…our anniversary dinner! HA! Yep, David made (awesome, augmented) Ramen soup. Why? Because 1) we had a big, late lunch at The Square Meal in Trenton and 2) we had hiked until it got dark and when we got back, all we cared about was getting showered and into comfy clothes. We did that and decided to just stay in. Ramen was the perfect way to help replenish our fluids and increase our salt intake after sweating so much! By the way, can you spot Dexter in this photo???
The next morning, we went hiking once again. This time we did the whole West Rim Loop trail. We were rewarded with this amazing view overlooking the town of Trenton.
When we got back to camp, David found this neat caterpillar!
We chilled out for a while after our long hike. Here was my favorite place to relax at our campsite. Dexter liked it too!
Over the next couple of days, we went for a few more walks/hikes around the park, highlights of which are below:
Can you spot the waterfall in the below shot?
Here’s some more shots of and around our campsite. Someone stole my chair!
Our dogs aren’t spoiled or anything, are they? 😉
Anyway, it was a great trip and we all had a fantastic time. This was our second trip in the RV and it performed well, much thanks to David. It sure doesn’t feel like camping when you have luxuries like a roof over our heads, hot and cold water, HVAC, a potty, hot shower and a mattress to sleep on!
Our next trip will be on the beach, so stay tuned!
