We all got up and had breakfast back at Drake’s. Afterward, David and I went to the Adirondack Museum! Many (many) years ago I used to pass by this museum when I drove from home (Towaco, NJ) to college (Clarkson University) in Potsdam, NY. It was 7 hours one way. The museum is located at Blue Mountain Lake and I was FINALLY going to visit it. The below slide show gives you an idea of some of the cool things we got to see and learn about.
When we got back to the cabin, everyone was having a late lunch and so did we. Afterward, David took a nice long nap. Margie, mom and I went to get a homemade lasagna and garlic bread from a place in Old Forge called Sharky’s. 100% Italians, they were… and fabulous, happy, loud, charming folks. We headed home with our feast, but not before I ducked into the IGA to get some milk. Whilst waiting in line, I heard all about the town’s bear problems. They are getting into the garbage at the store and breaking into people’s houses! This is NOT the stuff you hear when in line at Kroger in Lawrenceville, GA! Anyway, back home we went, where we had a delicious dinner. Sharky’s lasagna, garlic bread and especially his sauce were fabulous. We chatted with delight into the night. Our last night, though. 😦
