Random acts of …culture?!?

Imagine this…..you are doing your thing, shopping at Macy’s, minding your own business, when all of a sudden, out of the blue, over SIX HUNDRED people all around you begin to beautifully sing Handel’s Messiah.

Imagine no more.  This actually happened. On October 30th, 2010, at a Macy’s in Philadelphia, a Random Act of Culture occurred.

Kudos to Knight Arts and The Opera Company of Philadelphia for pulling off such a cool feat.  Not only is this wonderful to listen to, but it is enjoyable to see patrons delightfully surprised by the performance.  Many actually chimed in.  What an amazing, happy moment, that I’m sure no one in that store will ever forget.  I’m glad I got to at least see the video of it, and even moreso in that I get to share it with you.  I hope it brings as much joy to you as it did to me.  Merry Christmas, all.  🙂

PS – Thank you, dad, for sharing this with me!
